Selection Guide: How to choose the right diamond tool

Correct selection is the key to successful application. Please refer to the following "Four Elements" principles:
1. Processing materials:
·Granite, concrete, refractory materials: Select metal bond tools and pay attention to the toughness and wear resistance of tools.
·Hard alloy and ceramics: use metal bond for rough grinding, and use resin bond for fine grinding and polishing, taking advantage of its good self-sharpening and high finish.
·Glass, crystal, semiconductor: resin binders or electroplating tools are often used, requiring smooth and non-damage processing.
·Stone polishing: Select a special resin matrix polishing block.
2. Processing stage:
·Roughing (cutting, large margin removal): Select tools with coarse particle size and high concentration to pursue efficiency.
·Finishing (fine grinding, polishing): Select tools with fine grain size and low concentration to pursue surface quality.
3. Tool Binder:
·Metal bond: has the highest strength, longest life, good shape retention, but poor self-sharpening. Suitable for rough grinding, cutting and forming grinding.
·Resin bond: Good elasticity, good self-sharpening, high surface finish, but relatively low wear resistance. Suitable for fine grinding and polishing.
·Electroplating tools: Simple to manufacture and sharp to cut, but thin coating and limited life. Suitable for complex profile processing and a small amount of fine work.
·Brazing tools: Strong holding power, large chip holding space, and extremely efficient, are the representative of the new generation of efficient cutting tools.
4. Equipment and working conditions:
·Ensure that equipment power and speed match tool specifications.
·Dry or wet cut? Wet cutting can significantly reduce temperature, suppress dust, and extend tool life, and is the first choice. If dry cutting is necessary, select dry cutting tools with cooling holes or specially designed dry cutting tools, and strictly control cutting parameters.
