It can not only be polished into exquisite cultivated diamond jewelry, embellishing people's beautiful lives, but also widely used in aerospace, national defense and military industry, high-end CNC machine tools, chip manufacturing, geological exploration and other fields, known as "industrial teeth".
It serves as a silicon carbide substrate for third-generation semiconductor materials, used to make high-end electronic chips, but it is hard and brittle, making it extremely difficult to process. However, the newly developed thinning grinding wheel by Zhengzhou Sanmu Institute has produced a mirror like effect.
The roughness of the substrate we polish can be controlled within 3 nanometers, which is equivalent to an area the size of a football field, and no protrusions the size of sesame seeds are allowed, "said Yang Wei, the leader of the product development project team at Zhengzhou Sanmo Institute.
The relevant person in charge of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Henan Province stated that currently, more than 20 national level innovation platforms are rooted in Henan, and more than 80 key technological breakthroughs are born in the laboratory. Henan diamond is transforming from an "industrial tooth" to an "ultimate material".
Nowadays, Zhengzhou, as the "brain", gathers the research and development forces of numerous universities and research institutes, specializing in cutting-edge fields such as semiconductor substrates. Nanyang's monocrystalline, Shangqiu's micro powder, and Xuchang's equipment each hold key links in the industrial chain, forming an industrial map of "four city linkage" coordinated operation.
A cluster consisting of 788 enterprises and 229 high-tech enterprises has achieved a localization matching rate of 60%. Among them, the top three companies in terms of global annual output value for multiple products such as ultra hard material single crystals, micro powders, and cultivated diamonds are all "camping" within the cluster.
